DOUBT: A PARABLE

DOUBT from May 10 at the Old Fitz

Amidst the turbulence of the 1960s, Sister Aloysius, a Bronx school principal and stern Catholic nun, takes matters into her own hands when she suspects the younger Father Flynn of improper relations with one of the male students. An accusation sets the stage for a powerful clash of authority, tradition, responsibility and faith.

Where do you draw the line between belief and suspicion? Between scandal and moral certainty. And when does the battle for truth turn into a witch hunt?

Winner of four major dramatic arts awards including the 2005 Pulitzer Prize and Tony for Best Play, Apocalypse Theatre Company's production stars Charmaine BingwaDamian de MontemasBelinda Giblin and Matilda Ridgway, with set and costumes by Jonathan Hindmarsh and lighting by Alexander Berlage. Director Dino Dimitriadis is assisted by Daniel Cottier, with Maria Spataro stage managing.
