Dave Thornton’s one man show is filled with witty one-liners and sly comments on his life as a man in his early thirties. References to Bruce Lee are there but only as garnish to the rest of this disarming evening of stand-up comedy. Thornton has a good stage presence and manages to make audience participation an effortless part of his performance and then uses the stories the audience provide beautifully throughout the rest of his show. The show could have benefited from a tighter relevance to its title but as an evening of stand-up, you’ll laugh and enjoy this effortless comic’s company. Go and enjoy. 2011 Melbourne International Arts Festival I Wanna Be Bruce Lee Dave Thornton Venue: Arthur's Bar at Rosati | 95 Flinders Lane, Melbourne Dates: 31 March – 24 April, 2011 Times: Tue-Sat 8.30pm, Sun 7.30pm Duration: 60 minutes Tickets: $24 – $20 Bookings: Ticketmaster 1300 660 013 | at the door |
