The fighting may be continuing in war torn Ukraine but one theatre company is determined that its annual festival will take place in Kyiv this month and it is inviting theatre lovers and theatre companies across the world to join in.

Theatre lovers can watch the shows online and theatre companies and performers who are creating live work during the duration of the festival, August 13 – 21, are asked to show their support by signing up to make their show part of the Pro-Act Festival happening live in Kiev. Companies that have recordings of their performances are asked to join the online section of the festival.

The theme of the festival is Unbreakable – a reference to the spirit of the people living in Ukraine and the performers who make theatre there – and the festival is inviting people to show their solidarity with Ukraine and support the creatives who are carrying on producing work regardless of the war waging in their country.

People can view the festival performances on Scenesaver: https://www.scenesaver.co.uk/festivals/proactfest/

The shows are free to view and users are asked to make a donation and this money will be shared with the festival and performers in Ukraine and in support for the war effort.

Performances will start at 7pm August 13 with the live events taking place on August 20th and 21st in Kyiv.
